Case Summary
On June 16, Telangana Police detained BJP MLA T Raja Singh at the airport while he was on his way to Medak to meet party members who had been attacked by goons over cow protection issues. Singh shared the incident on social media, stating that the police had arrested him and supported the attackers while BJP and BJYM members were detained. The conflict began when Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leaders intervened to stop the illegal transportation of cows, leading to clashes between two communities. In response, the police imposed Section 144 near Ramdas Chowrasta in Medak district to prevent gatherings and potential violence. Singh intended to visit the hospital to meet the injured gaurakshaks.

The cow is considered sacred in the Hindu religion. Often, cows are slaughtered by non-Hindu perpetrators as a mark of insult to the Hindu faith. There have been several documented cases throughout history where cow slaughter is used as a method to insult the Hindu faith, convert Hindus (by force-feeding beef) and desecrate temples. Those who work towards the protection of the cow are also often attacked brutally by Muslim radicals.
