Sword-borne Salim Khan arrested while trying to abduct Hindu woman he previously raped from her wedding, assaults her family

Case Summary
A 22-year-old man named Kalu alias Salim Khan was arrested for raping and attempting to abduct a 21-year-old Hindu female in Madhya Pradesh’s Ashok Nagar district. He also recorded the sexual violation on camera, then defamed her with the video, and assaulted her family members as she was tying the knot with another man. A video of the incident went viral on social media on May 30. It showed a group, including Salim, brandishing swords and iron rods and pulling a woman from her home in order to kidnap her. The perpetrator, along with his accomplices Jodha, Sameer, and Shahrukh, broke into the victim's residence around 6 o'clock in the evening. When she objected, they assaulted her family, breaking her brother's arm and her father's leg, while her mother suffered severe beatings. Despite cries for help, the perpetrator threatened bystanders and departed as the crowd grew. He also threatened the victim's family and her fiancé's family during the incident. Initially reluctant, the police eventually registered a case after intervention from local Hindu organization members on the evening of May 29. Two FIRs were launched in the matter.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
There is enough precedent to prove that Islamists view Hindu women as chattels and the spoils of war. In this case, it is evident that the man had a one-sided obsession with the woman in question, however, the suspicion stems from the fact that not only did the perpetrator rape the woman, he also reached her wedding with co-religionists with swords to 'claim' the woman. There is a strong suspicion that this case could be motivated by religious hate and animosity, however, because the available information gives no concrete indication of religious animosity driving the crime, this case is being categorized as 'undecided'.
