Disabled Hindu minor abducted from temple, raped by Muslim man who was out on bail after sexually assaulting a 5-year-old

Case Summary
On May 12, 2024, in the Gnagoh area of Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, a 4-year-old handicapped Hindu girl was brutally raped in a sugarcane field by one Sameer, son of Sajid. The victim had gone to consume prasad at the temple bhandara when the perpetrator kidnapped her, took her to the field, and sexually abused her. Her health deteriorated significantly, due to which she became unconscious. He then absconded, believing her to be dead. The little girl's father was distributing food to sadhus in the temple when Sameer took the girl, claiming she was sleepy and he would take her home. Despite some people trying to stop him, the eyewitnesses believed his lies. On being discovered in the sugarcane field, the girl was taken to the hospital immediately. The culprit was nabbed within some time and he confessed to the crime. He was arrested on May 13 and sent to jail. The accused had come out of jail only three months prior to the incident on bail. A case of child molestation had already been filed against him. On December 15, 2021, he had sexually violated a 5-year-old child in his own village, smacked the victim's head with a brick and run away.
